Lutunji Abram, a woman of great faith is a renaissance artist and socially impassioned community activist with an eclectic repertoire of works spanning the spectrums of theater, music and civic engagement. She starred in the community theater production of Shattered – powerfully portraying the round-the-way sista girl with a heart named Peaches. Her recently released single, Whenever U R Ready, poetically transforms the listener into an engaged proponent of her social reformist platform through a masterful fusion of jazz, reggae, R&B, neo-soul and gospel. Her influx into the music industry includes Finalist in the John Lennon song writing contest, toured with the International Rhythm & Praise tour which Armed with a B.A. in Performing Arts and Community Development from Metro State University, a M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Bethel University, and a DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative fellowship alumnae, Lutunji’s skillful blend of arts and advocacy has far-reaching impact on varying fronts including volunteer teaching of poetry to elementary through high school aged students at Metro State; penning the theme song for Phat Summer – a free city-wide evening recreational and educational program for youth. Lutunji is also the proud mother of Aaron Abram.
